Health and Safety Policy 

 

1. Statement of intent 

FAST UK PARCEL (“the Business”) recognises and accepts its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 including the responsibility to: 

  • provide and maintain a safe and healthy place of work. 

  • provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision. 

  • provide and maintain safe systems of work. 

  • ensure safe access to and from the places of work. 

  • work towards the prevention of accidents and work-related ill-health. 

2. Health and Safety Responsibilities 

  • The overall responsibility for health and safety lies with the director, Thalita Masiero. 

  • Catia Felix has the day-to-day responsibility of managing health and safety across business activities. 

  • The Management is committed to complying with the requirements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and all other Regulations that may apply to the running of a logistic business. 

  • The Management will ensure that assessments of all potentially hazardous activities are carried out in order to minimise hazards, while also ensuring the necessary procedures and controls are put into place to prevent accidents or injuries.  

  • The management will address and work with direct staff and contractors in relation to all health and safety matters.  

  • All direct or sub-contracted staff will be required to co-operate with supervisors and managers on all health and safety-related matters; take reasonable care of their own health and safety, and report all health and safety concerns to an appropriate person (as detailed above). 

 

3. Arrangements for health and safety 

  • Relevant risk assessments will be performed, and appropriate action taken as necessary. The referred risk assessments shall be reviewed according to changes in working habits, conditions and circumstances.  

  • Training Provision– All staff and sub-contractors will be subject to health and safety inductions and provided with the appropriate training (including remote training), as well as advised of their responsibilities in respect of health and safety matters. Employees and Sub-contractors will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate. 

  • Management to consult with employees and Sub-contractors on health and safety matters routinely or when issues arise, as well as upon periodic health and safety reviews. 

  • Evaluating and ensuring all exits and escape routes are well signalized and kept clear at all times. 

  • Establishing and employing procedures to deal with emergencies appropriately. 

  • Appointing a suitably trained and competent person to assist in carrying out health and safety duties.  

  • Ensuring that employees receive sufficient training and information to allow them to can carry out their duties safely and competently. 

  • Establishing the timings for annual review of the Health and Safety Policy and ensuring that it is promoted to all employees as well as others working on behalf of the Company.   

  • Ensuring the adequate provision of welfare facilities and first aid supplies. 

*This policy will be reviewed annually or when there is a change in circumstances and/or work practices, or in the event of the introduction of new legislation.
